Local teens charged with Criminal Mischief and Trespassing at Brewster High School

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrest of four men after the Brewster High School baseball field was vandalized.

On March 10, 2019, at approximately 4:53 am, Deputy Shane Rossiter and Deputy Ryan Diskin of the Emergency Service Unit were dispatched to a report of a vehicle doing “donuts” on the Brewster High School baseball field. Upon arrival, the deputies observed an occupied vehicle stuck on the baseball field. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle caused approximately $1,000.00 worth of damage to the baseball field. The driver, Cole Crandell, age 19, of Southeast was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class E Felony), and Trespass (Violation). In addition, the occupants of the vehicle; Tino Surace, age 19, of Southeast; Brian Milano, age 19, of Southeast, and Nicholas Leahy, age 19, of Patterson, were arrested and charged with Trespass (Violation). Mr. Crandell was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing.The Felony charge that the driver was charged with requires that the damage is in excess of $250. 

Mr. Crandell was processed and arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court. Mr. Crandell was released on his own recognizance, pending a future court date. Mr. Surace, Mr. Milano, and Mr. Leahy were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court. All four men are scheduled to appear in court at a future date and time.
