Jazz Fridays with Brian Torff

Music lovers! Kick off your weekend with a free concert held on the Museum Commons. Bring your own picnic and a blanket or chair and soak up the sounds of jazz. Brian Q. Torff has traveled many miles, from Illinois blues and rock bands to backing Frank Sinatra and playing blistering bass solos with jazz pianist George Shearing at the White House. What makes Torff unique is his songwriting, laced with vocals, harmonica, slide guitar, and vintage keyboards.

This annual all-day, all-ages, day of free fandom fun is celebrated with raffles, photo ops, cosplay contests, prizes, scavenger hunts, crafts and drop-in activities. Look for Barbie, Scooby-Doo, D&D, Pokémon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Star Trek, Super Mario and more. Children’s specific events run from 10:00 am-1:30 pm, Teen and Adult programming runs from 1:00 -4:00 pm, and a return of the popular Adults-only Games on Tap Board Game Night takes place from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Come join the fun!

Selections include Come Rain or Come Shine, Get Happy, Over the Rainbow, and more.
