Why Small Businesses Matter in Bridgeport: Rapha Massage

Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Rapha Massage!

Three questions with Lynn Mosher-Howell, founder of Rapha Massage.

Why did you start your business?

I started my own first practice in 2010 called "Miracle Massage". Due to the recession, there was no going back to office work. I was thankful to have my massage training to fall back on. I launched Rapha Massage in 2013 when I started my second office in Fairfield.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Rapha Technique is my own style of massage that incorporates Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Hot Stone massage by using hot towels in the massage. This gives you a Deep Tissue massage that feels like a relaxing Swedish massage.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Covid forced me to "reinvent" my office. I used backdrops to turn my office into a smaller, more intimate, sanitary space. It turned into a garden oasis behind a library. It's named "The Secret Garden".
