Why Small Businesses Matter in Bridgeport: Park City Harvest

Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Park City Harvest!

Three questions with Shawn Joseph, co-founder of Park City Harvest.

Why did you start your business?

We started our business to be able to provide a healthy fresh and affordable produce option for those in our community as well as to show the urban youth different career options.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Our best-selling product carries depending on the season but overall it has to be our herb-infused olive oil and Haitian pikliz.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

One of the local businesses we have used on a repeat basis is the David Tree Service. He has pruned and/or cut down trees for us to allow for better sunlight. They have also provided us with multiple FREE woodchip deliveries so we are able to mulch our growing spaces making landscape maintenance much easier.
