Downtown Bridgeport Welcomes New Mural Celebrating Local Music History, Nov. 13

Bridgeport, CT - Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District (DSSD) President + CEO Lauren Coakley Vincent, Bridgeport DSSD Commissioner, property owner for 115 Middle Street Fred Frassinelli, mural artist Alicia Cobb, Platinum Room Recorders founder Edwin Rivera, and members of the Downtown Bridgeport community are thrilled to celebrate a public mural commemorating the legacy of Bridgeport’s musical history.

The mural will “color in” another corner of an emerging public art destination within Downtown Bridgeport, connecting the Broad Street Steps with the ground mural at Peacock Alley, the emerging public art corner at the intersection of Main and Elm Streets. The mural will attract daily visitors to enjoy the improved physical setting of the space and educate them about the many pop music hits and world famous musicians who have recorded in the city of Bridgeport.

The public is invited to attend the mural’s unveiling, which will include remarks from the artist and leadership from the Bridgeport DSSD. Then, hang around Downtown for the kickoff for the 13th annual Bridgeport Art Trail, a four-day celebration of local arts talent with citywide arts venue open houses, parties, performances, and more, visit bridgeport-art-trail.org/2021-bridgeport-art-trail.

WHEN: Thursday, November 11, 2021 – 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
