Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Beet & Blossom Photo Co.!
Three questions with Cassie Torres, founder of Beet & Blossom Photo Co.
Why did you start your business?
We started Beet & Blossom to create timeless wedding photos that you can recognize yourselves in. No one deserves wedding photos that make them cringe, so we make you feel comfortable in front of the camera while taking classic portraits and emotion-filled candids.
After your wedding, we help you get your wedding photos off your computer and into your hands with heirloom quality albums and prints that can be enjoyed for generations. Connecticut is such a special place to get married and we love photographing in all the diverse venues: barns, historic mansions, beaches, backyards...Connecticut has it all!
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our most popular wedding photography collection includes 8 hours of wedding photography coverage, an engagement session, and one of our heirloom quality albums. All our wedding collections come with the Beet & Blossom Experience, which includes photo timeline creation and an organized system to make sure we capture everything important to you on your wedding day.
Your engagement session is an excellent opportunity for you to start feeling comfortable in front of our camera while getting images that capture you in this fleeting season of engagement at a Connecticut location that is special to you. We travel for free anywhere within one hour of Bridgeport, CT.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
We have big plans for Beet & Blossom's future! We're currently offering virtual one-on-one mentor sessions so other photographers can grow their businesses while giving their clients great experiences. Our educational offerings help photographers organize, pay themselves consistently, and sleep at night. You deserve to love your photography business and the life it gives you.
We also have plans to open a photography studio space in Bridgeport that can serve as a location for photography education, workshops, and collaboration.
Cassie would like to nominate Alex Torres of Park City Studios - "While Alex photographs weddings with me, he has his own photography business in Bridgeport that specializes in headshots, businesses, food, aerial images, and music!"
