New School Start Times to Begin for the 2023-2024 School Year
The First Day of School- Tuesday, September 5th

* WMS/BHS - 8:00 am to 2:45 pm
(WMS students and BHS students will NOT ride the bus together)
* CLES - 8:50 am to 3:35 pm
In the summer of 2019 the Board, administration and faculty, along with multiple stakeholders, initiated work for over a year to study the research regarding adolescent sleep needs in order to determine whether a change to our traditional start times was necessary. Available research was reviewed, stakeholders were surveyed (students, parents, staff) and potential impacts were analyzed.
The Result:
The Healthy School Start Times BOE subcommittee recommended a change in school start times across the district.

Our High School students will gain 45 minutes of sleep by starting their day later

WMS and CLES will have minor adjustments to its start times.

After-school activities & athletics are minimally changed so as not to cause disruption
