Searching for Butterflies with Victor DeMasi

The Discovery Center at Ridgefield presents: Searching for Butterflies with Victor DeMasi on August 24 at 10:00 a.m.

Local lepidopterist Victor DeMasi will meet with butterfly enthusiasts at the Norwalk River study site and show off a collection of the local fauna with a short discussion on butterfly ecology and conservation. DeMasi will continue with a field walk in one of our states outstanding meadows to observe butterflies on the wing and present a few specimens for close examination which will be released unharmed.

Victor DeMasi is a research associate at the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History. Victor and his wife Roanna have studied butterflies for the last forty years in Connecticut and far away places such as the Amazon basin and Ethiopia.
