For 1 night only on Sunday July 30, 2017, from 6-9 pm, residents of Bethel and surrounding areas are in for a treat as they enjoy timeless melodies and entertainment during dinner with renowned international musician Joe Meo and singer Barbara Occhino at the Portofino Restaurant & Wine Bar, 213 Greenwood Avenue. Joe Meo of Southport is a multi-instrumentalist (brass, guitar, woodwinds) and singer who has had a wide-ranging musical career that seemed preordained - his first instrument (a clarinet) fell out of a car and landed across the street from his house when he was 8 years old! Joe has played in numerous rock, funk and jazz bands from New Jersey to Massachusetts and has toured the world with the Jeff Holmes Big Band and the Ed Palermo band and has played with the Tonight Show orchestra under Doc Severinsen. He has played with many pop artists including Billy Vera, the Pointer Sisters, the Four Tops, the Temptations, and Johnny Mathis. His abilities on clarinet, saxophone, and flute have allowed him to play in pit orchestras for Broadway productions. He also has a thriving teaching career, teaching privately and substituting in private and public schools. He is equally adept at all genres of music combining outstanding reading skills and the ability to improvise, allowing him to fit seamlessly into any musical situation.

Multilingual vocalist Barbara Espinosa Occhino of Stamford brings her dynamic energy to every performance with a repertoire of jazz, swing, American Songbook, Latin music and more. "Her voice is soft and sultry. Her personality is warm like sunshine and her love of music is her joy and gift to people," says a music reporter (see BarbaraEntertains.com for review). Besides managing the Barbara's Serenade bands, she sings with Metro New York area bands and serves as the Music and Entertainment Curator for the Stamford ARTWALK, the Annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll, and area events. Barbara has performed at venues including Stamford's The Palace, Harbor Point Stamford, The Bartlett Arboretum, festivals, restaurants, country clubs, corporations, and private parties. She has been a session vocalist in New York and Connecticut recording studios and has performed with theatre, dance, and choral groups.
