Family-friendly Halloween event at WestConn on Sunday

The Western Connecticut State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host a free Haunted Halloween Walk from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, in the Ballroom of the Campus Center on the university's Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The public is invited to come in costume to enjoy the haunted walk, face painting, pumpkin decorating and candy. Donations of non-perishable food items and cash donations will be accepted for a local shelter.

The walk portion of the event will be constructed inside the Ballroom on campus where student athletes will act as guides and actors. Groups can request whether the lights be left off or on during their walk. After the introductory walk, guests can access any of the other stations for their entertainment.

The Haunted Halloween Walk is intended for children of all ages along with their families. The annual event has been quite popular over the years, with more than 200 families attending. Halas Farm Market has donated 120 pumpkins and Blue Jay Orchards has donated 200 apples for this event.
