Spring Celebration at Litchfield Crossings in New Milford

Come on down and “Get the Dirt on Gardening” from Master Gardener and author Michelle MacKinnon on April 29th from 11:00 to 3:00 at Litchfield Crossings, New Milford’s largest shopping center. MacKinnon will kick off a day of family fun by dishing the dirt in an easygoing relaxed way on sustainable landscapes and tips on gardening.  According to MacKinnon, Litchfield Crossings has an exceptional array of plant life and more than anywhere else in the area, so she will be conducting tours at 12:00, 1:00 and 2:30 to showcase and observe the native species of plants on site, in addition to offering flower and plant recommendations for everyday living and gardening.

Gardening is one of the country’s, maybe the globe’s fastest growing hobbies and millennials are fascinated by it, says MacKinnon, “probably because of its ecofriendly roots.  This relaxing and stress relieving pastime has finally touched and soothed our technology driven youths.”  MacKinnon’s appearance will kick off festivities including fun and games for the entire family.  Meet honey producers, local farmers including Goatboy, area gardeners and gardening suppliers. A portion of all proceeds from the day will benefit the local Sierra Club, the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.

This Spring Celebration is being hosted in conjunction with the gracious support of Panera Bread, New Milford, one of the many members of the retail family at Litchfield Crossings. Litchfield Crossings, is located at 169 Danbury Rd, New Milford, CT. Please visit www.LitchfieldCrossings.com for the latest news on events and happenings at the Center.
