Brookfield Patrol Officer Joe Kyek Leads Discussion Following Documentary Film "3 Seconds Behind the Wheel" on April 1

April is National Distracted Driver Awareness Month

Brookfield residents are invited to attend 3 Seconds Behind the Wheel: Documentary Film and Discussion on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 7:00- 8:30  p.m. at The Brookfield Library.

Discussion to be led by Brookfield Patrol Officer Joe Kyek.

"3 Seconds Behind the Wheel" is the compelling documentary that follows eight Connecticut and Florida drivers over six months using in-car cameras and tracking technology to identify habits that make them susceptible to distracted driving.  This is an honest and intimate look at human nature, and an objective look at the issue of distracted driving. Why three seconds? That's how long it takes to the length of a football field, send a message or choose a song.

The program gives audiences a first-hand look at the behavior of real drivers, from drinking coffee and eating to texting and taking selfies behind the wheel. It also offers a look at emerging technologies that could one day offer solutions to rising crash statistics. Appropriate for adults, teens and tweens. Following the film, Brookfield Patrol Officer Joe Kyek will hold a question and answer session.

  Registration recommended.
