Brookfield Craft Center Annual Holiday Sale

Brookfield Craft Center Opens Its Doors on Nov. 13 through Dec. 31 for Its 46th Annual Fine Craft Holiday Sale

This is a Win-Win event that offers shoppers the opportunity to select unique hand-crafted gifts and support the Brookfield Craft Center at the same time

Brookfield, CT, October 15, 2021…The season for giving is once again upon us, and people are invited to “shop creatively” rather than buying generic gifts at the local Big Box store. On Saturday, November 13, shoppers have the chance to admire and purchase one-of-a-kind objects of finely crafted beauty for their loved ones…or themselves! They’ll be treated to a stunning array of fine crafts – jewelry, glass, woodcrafts, fiber works, pottery, ornaments and much more. When you give a gorgeous “one-off” – a stylish hat and scarf, decorative glass creation, wood-turned bowl, a smashing necklace – you’ll show the thought and care that went into its selection, and the recipient won’t ever see another just like it.

Jillian Doherty, Craft Center Gallery Manager, notes, “This annual holiday sale has become a destination for hundreds of visitors from across the Northeast. For the last 40-plus years, they have come to admire and buy handmade fine crafts from 125 artists from across the United States. Buying from the BCC not only allows you to discover the ideal holiday gift for special friends and relatives, it’s also an opportunity to support all of our talented artists.” Gallery shop hours from November 13 through December 31 are Mondays through Fridays from 12-5pm, Saturdays from 11am-5pm, and Sundays 12-4pm.

To kick off the season there will be two opening receptions, Thursday November 11th for members and Friday November 12th for all who want to get ahead of the crowds.  For more information and to register to attend, check out www.brookfieldcraft.org/46invitation/

“Shopping Brookfield Craft Center during our Holiday Sale and all year round not only gives you an opportunity to buy a very special gift, and it helps to sustain a nationally recognized center for fine craft and to support fine craft artists both locally and from across the United States,” says Howard Lasser, Executive Director. “Our institution is dedicated to advancing the skills of fine craftsmanship, supporting artists, fostering creativity, building community and preserving our historic campus for future generations to enjoy. Every purchase made in our gallery store helps us move towards these goals.”

Gallery shop hours from November 13 through December 31 are Mondays through Fridays from 12-5, Saturdays from 11-5, and Sundays 12-4 pm.

The Brookfield Craft Center (BCC) was founded in 1952 and is recognized as one of the core fine craft schools in America. The center, incorporated in 1954 is a 501(c)(3) organization, offering classes and workshops in glass arts, woodturning, ceramics, jewelry, blacksmithing, fiber arts, painting and drawing, digital photography and other creative endeavors for children and adults taught by professional faculty. The historic Mill Building (ca 1780) Gift Shop and Exhibition Gallery is a beautiful venue for displaying fine craft. All works are carefully juried and are representative of the type of skills individuals can learn in our classes. As a force for arts advocacy and community building, Brookfield Craft Center strives to teach and preserve the skills of fine craftsmanship, and to enable creativity and personal growth through craft education.
