Referendum Fails, Brookfield Library Thanks Supporters and Volunteers

On the heels of a failed referendum, Brookfield Library thanks their many supporters and volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring a new library to the town. The library will be working on a revised proposal that they will bring to voters soon.

In a letter to the community, Brookfield Library stated:

We would like to thank our supporters of the new library project and all of the many volunteers who devoted their time and energy toward getting a new library for the town of Brookfield.

We made every attempt to present the facts. We wish it would have gone the other way because we believe that this is a sound project and it is so important for the future of Brookfield to have this facility for the benefit of all the residents.

We will be doing some research to find out exactly how to address the concerns that people have. We will reflect on those concerns and we will revamp the project and present a revised proposal to the voters as soon as possible.

Visit the Library online here. Many amazing programs and events are on the horizon, including a celebration of Women's History Month.
