UPDATE and Correction: Public Swimming Pools in Brookfield Ordered Closed

Please note: this Emergency Order was updated on 5/21. The information we published in a prior post was incorrect.

In an Emergency Order Brookfield Director of Health Raymond Sullivan announced that public swimming pools in the Town of Brookfield must remain closed, "until such time as the Governor of the State of Connecticut expands the number of individuals allowed to gather in one setting beyond the current limit of five."

The Order goes on to say:

It should be understood that this Order is issued to prevent the gathering of no more than five (5) individuals in one setting and NOT because of transmission of the SARSCoV-2 virus, which causes the disease referred to as COVID19, through bathing waters, which has not been demonstrated scientifically to occur.
