Enjoy Hidden Valley Nature Center's Winter Wonderland!

Founded by local residents in 1960, Hidden Valley Nature Center in New Fairfield serves the community as both a sanctuary and environmental education center. Winter is a wonderful time to appreciate its beauty, and its six decades of connecting our community to nature! Please observe winter safety precautions and pandemic safety guidelines when visiting the property. Thank you, and enjoy nature safely!

Hidden Valley is a memorial to Frances Gillotti, a founder and its volunteer director until 1972. The Conservation Commission, Boy Scouts and Lions Club then maintained it until New Fairfield's land trust obtained a conservation easement to protect this land. Today, its trails, pavilion, observation deck and story circle host year-round events, including the Earth Day celebration we co-sponsor with Parks and Recreation.

Located on Gillotti Road just southwest of Indian Hill Road, Hidden Valley is a nearby haven from the holiday bustle, or an appealing outdoor meeting spot with family or friends. Its 14 acres include a parking area, trails, an observation deck overlooking its lake, and an interactive educational nature walk created by a student team from New Fairfield High School. Click here for a map and more details on Hidden Valley Nature Center.
