Women’s Center of Greater Danbury (WCOGD) Announces Pat Zachman’s 25th Anniversary at the Women’s Center with planned celebration for Spring 2018 annual fundraising dinner, An Evening Together, slated for Friday, April 6, at Danbury’s Amber Room Colonnade.
The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury will be celebrating Patricia A. Zachman’s 25th anniversary at the organization with a soiree expected to attract a crowd of more than 300 this April. February 2018 marks her 25th Anniversary leading the organization, currently holding the title of President & CEO. She has long been the face and the voice of the Women’s Center. Celebrating this milestone anniversary, she still holds the same passion for the cause and determination to make a difference that she did all those years ago when she walked in the front doors on her very first day, then holding the title of Executive Director. Fondly referred to by her staff as Pat, it is clear that no one realized what this new relationship would blossom into, but the Center became Pat’s home. During her tenure, the organization has more than doubled in size and has become the area’s sole provider of domestic and sexual violence survivor services.
Pat has overseen the Center’s expansion of services provided to adults and children, established satellite services to better meet the needs of victims in the Center’s southern Litchfield and Northern Fairfield County service towns, and partnered with Western Connecticut State University to provide domestic violence and sexual assault direct and education services to the entire campus community. From arranging floral centerpieces for annual events to meeting with elected officials at the Capitol, Pat is always there working on behalf of the Women’s Center and supporting those who are the most desperate for help and support. In addition to her responsibilities at the Center, Pat has been a force throughout the state, serving on many boards and participating in a variety of other community coalitions and collaborative efforts.
I really can’t believe it’s been 25 years, it has gone by so fast! It has been an honor and a privilege to serve such a wonderful organization, that is needed now more than ever given the current headlines. I have had the pleasure of working with so many incredible members of our staff, board of directors, advisory council, and volunteers without whom we could never do all that we do 24/7 for the people turning to us for help. They are the true definition of those going above and beyond the call of duty. I am especially grateful to have had the opportunity to work with our three founders: Alice Chapman, Betti Corso and Bonnie Law, who saw the need within our communities over 40 years ago and rose up to meet it. I am so very grateful to be a part of such an amazing team! - Patricia A. Zachman, Women’s Center President & CEO
The Women’s Center is pleased to announce that we will be celebrating Pat’s 25 years of service in providing the ultimate voice of knowledge, compassion and selflessness in April. Her voice and those of our Founders have resulted in the Women’s Center we are so proud of today. The Friday, April 6 dinner provides a fresh break from the more formal Saturday night fundraiser gala rotation, an intentional move continued by the organizers.
