On Monday evening, November 5, the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame celebrated 25 years of putting women in the spotlight by holding an Induction Ceremony at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
The empowering evening featured the induction of three artists into the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame:
- Tony Award-winning actress, TV, film, and stage, Anika Noni Rose, who voiced the first black Disney princess in The Princess and the Frog.
- Innovative Rock & Roll Hall of Fame bass guitarist, songwriter and co-founder of the influential rock and funk bands Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, Tina Weymouth.
The event kicked off with an a cappella performance by talented University of Connecticut students.
