Brookfield Resident Ken Rist to Show at Housatonic Habitat’s Crafts N’ Draft, Sept. 21st

Meet Woodturner Ken Rist at the first annual Crafts N’ Drafts fundraising event hosted by Housatonic Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, September 21st from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Danbury Elks Lodge No. 120, 36 Sugar Hollow Rd.

A member of the Nutmeg Woodturners League, Rist has been building furniture and cabinetry for over 20 years. But woodturning -- using hand-held tools to shape wood turning on a lathe -- is just one of his talents. He will also display his beautiful pewter and wood jewelry boxes, candle holders, vases and other elegantly honed home décor items.

“I visited a pewter smith shop and became fascinated with the metal fabrication process,” says Brookfielder Rist. He continues to perfect his craft by taking classes at the celebrated Brookfield Craft Center, Peter Valle School of Craft and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship.

Along with Rist, meet fellow crafters Kristin Clump, a furniture restorer with Foxtrot Home, Ukrainian egg painter Moki Kokoris, interior designer Megan Wunderlich of Design Dot, and Puppeteer Extraordinaire Robin McCahill of Intuit 2 Arts.
