Brookfield's Saint Joseph Catholic Academy Hosts Art Show

Saint Joseph Catholic Academy hosted their first Art show this past week at the school. The Pre-K through Grade 8 Art Show included over 200 pieces of student work.

Artwork included lessons on Kandinsky, Erik Heitmann, Claude Monet, and Jackson Pollock.  Art teacher, Marde Dimon, worked with students throughout the school year on creating masterpieces using watercolor, oils, pastels, tin, aluminum, and tempera paints.

Marde Dimon, Art teacher, focused on teaching about the fine arts and the history of art in class this year. Instead of creating a new project each week, the students spent three to six weeks on each piece. Dimon exclaims that "the pieces the students created amazed me all year. Their artistic work was unbelievably creative and the beauty of their finished pieces was beyond the scope of what I expected them to achieve."

St. Joseph Catholic Academy is a private, non-profit Catholic PK through Grade 8 school preparatory institution serving students from surrounding Brookfield communities. St. Joseph Catholic Academy provides an innovative multi-age learning program that allows students to focus on academic excellence, personal success and spiritual development.
