Important Information from Brookfield Craft Center

The health and safety of our community; faculty, students, staff and visitors is always our priority. We understand the growing concern over the coronavirus (COVID19), and want to share some thoughts and updates on what we have done and plans we have put in place going forward, as well as what you can do to help reduce risk for you and others in our community.

Since February, we have been consulting with the local health department to understand the risks and any mitigation actions we should be taking. Our setting: our studio layouts and small class sizes provide for appropriate social distancing, and we believe there is little to no immediate risk on our campus. We will continue to closely monitor the situation here in Brookfield and surrounding towns and follow all guidance from authorities.

As the situation has unfolded, we have taken the following actions:
  • At this time, some classes have been postponed or canceled at the teacher’s discretion. Students in those classes have been notified. Unless otherwise notified, all other classes will be taking place as planned. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as often as necessary.
  • Prior to each class, studios and tools and high touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, sinks, etc. are being wiped down with an antibacterial solution.
  • Studios will be monitored daily to be sure they are clean and safe for our students and teachers.
  • Instructors will require everyone to wash their hands at the beginning of class and as needed throughout the session.
  • As part of class cleanup, all work surfaces will be wiped down with the antibacterial solutions that are in each studio.
Finally, we urge students and teachers who are unwell to contact us so we can cancel or reschedule classes. Students who elect not to attend due to illness will be rescheduled or refunded.

In the meantime, if you have any questions of concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Thank you for working with us to keep everyone healthy and safe.
