Brookfield Craft Center presents Still Rivers: an exhibit featuring the work of Chris Perry

Brookfield Craft Center is excited to present Still Rivers: The Altered Book Art of Chris Perry.

The show, sponsored by Norbert E. Mitchell company, opens June 11th, 2022, and running through July 17th, 2022 in its Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery. Perry is a resident of Ridgefield and member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists.

Perry alters unwanted books to impart information without the use of words or images; the books themselves are the idea, the shape of the paper the information. The focus is always on water in its many forms and effects on other things.

“This focus on water and its power makes this a wonderful show to have during our 70th anniversary year as our gallery is located in an old mill building on the banks of the Still River,” says Howard Lasser, Brookfield Craft Center’s Executive Director.

There will be a reception in the Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery to meet the artist and view the work on June 23rd from 5-8 PM. All are welcome to attend this free event.

About the Brookfield Craft Center - The Brookfield Craft Center (BCC) was founded in 1952 and is recognized as one of the core fine craft schools in America. The center, incorporated in 1954 is a 501(c)(3) organization, offering classes and workshops in glass arts, woodturning, ceramics, jewelry, blacksmithing, fiber arts, drawing and painting, digital arts and other creative endeavors for children and adults taught by professional artisans. The historic Mill Building (ca 1780) Gift Shop and Exhibition Gallery is a beautiful venue for displaying fine craft. All works are carefully juried and are representative of the type of skills individuals can learn in our classes. As a force for arts advocacy and community building, Brookfield Craft Center strives to teach and preserve the skills of fine craftsmanship, and to enable creativity and personal growth through craft education.
