When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Create your own Walk Team, join a Walk Team, walk with the crowds, or get your company involved by creating a Corporate Team!
Why Start a Corporate Team? Employees from companies of all sizes can make a difference by participating in one of our Out of the Darkness Walks this fall. Benefits include:
-- Team-Building. A Walk Team is a fun way to create camaraderie in your office.
-- Networking. Encourages coworkers to meet peers from other departments and offices.
-- Leadership. Employees can volunteer to as Team Captains.
-- Health & Wellness. Encourages coworkers to get out and walk on event day.
-- Philanthropy. A Walk Team is a great way to give back to your local AFSP chapter and support employees who identify with the cause.
How Do You Create a Corporate Team? Designate one person to sign up as a Team Captain. The Team Captain should lead the effort to recruit additional walkers, personalize the team fundraising webpage, and keep everyone excited and motivated. Then have fun with it! Host Chili Cook-Offs, Dress Down Days, Ice Cream Socials, Silent Auctions and more to raise funds, awareness and office morale.
