FISH FRY FRIDAYS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Our Lady of the Lakes Council of the Knights of Columbus has made the difficult decision to suspend our Lenten Fish Fry Fridays until further notice.

Numerous factors led our Council's leadership to this conclusion. The obvious ones include the requests from all levels of government to minimize social contact, the current Emergency Declaration in Putnam County limiting the size of public gatherings to 20 people, and our overriding concern for the health and well-being of our members, families, and our guests.

While we could continue to offer take-out only service as we did last week, another concern has arisen that we cannot ignore. Many of our local businesses, including their employees, are being hit hard by the forced or suggested closings. This is no truer than in the food-service businesses, most of which are continuing to operate in the only allowable fashion, which is by offering take-out or delivery service. In such a time, we would rather you patronize our local businesses rather than come to our Fish Fry.

We will continue to monitor the current situation, including all guidance and requirements imposed by our government during the current health crisis. Should the situation improve significantly, we will reconsider offering take-out service.

Regardless of whether we are able to hold any more Fish Fry Fridays this Lenten season, our Council would like to thank everyone who came out and supported us our first three Fridays this year. The response was simply incredible, and we have no doubt that if we're done for this year, we'll pick up in 2021 right where we left off.

Thanks also to our amazing Fish Fry Crew and all of the volunteers who worked so hard on the effort.

Until then, keep praying for a quick and positive outcome to our current situation, and stay #PutnamStrong!
