Byrne Facilitates Successful Food and Toy Drives

Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R, C, I, SAM, ROS-Mahopac) is proud to announce the success of his annual holiday food and toy drive. Residents from across the 94th Assembly District contributed over a thousand items at drop-off sites located in Patterson, Somers, Yorktown, Southeast, Carmel, and Putnam Valley.

Assemblyman Byrne and his office delivered food to eight local food pantries in the district, including the Brewster Community Food Pantry, First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown Food Pantry, Saint John and Evangelist Church Food Pantry in Mahopac, New Life Christian Church Food Pantry in Patterson, Gilead Food Pantry at Gilead Presbyterian Church in Carmel, Putnam Valley Community Food Pantry, Patterson Community Church Food Pantry and Community Food Pantry at St. Mary’s Mohegan Lake. In addition, Byrne also partnered with The Ronald McDonald House Charities and Toys for Tots of Putnam County this year, supplying toys to sick children and families in need.

“It is remarkable to see how the community came together to support our neighbors,” said Byrne. “This was an especially important year to donate due to the financial circumstances brought about by the pandemic, and our community delivered. This year’s drive was by far the best participation we have ever had, and I would like to thank all those who donated for their generosity.”

“I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all our local food pantries for the great work they do in our community throughout the year,” continued Byrne. “These organizations provide a vital service and it’s always a pleasure to work with them.”

“We are grateful for the work Assemblyman Byrne does every year to help provide food for local families in need. This has been a challenging year for so many, but we have also seen incredible generosity from so many residents of our communities,” said Pastor Tony Cobert of the New Life Christian Church in Patterson.

"Our families were very grateful this holiday season for all the toys donated by Assemblyman Kevin Byrne and his team. This year is especially tough on many people and we greatly appreciate the support." said Tricia Robbins, Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator at Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley. "The toys brought smiles to so many children and we look forward to a continued partnership with the Assemblyman for years to come."
