Community Basketball Challenge Fundraising Opportunity
Don’t miss a great opportunity to raise money for your favorite nonprofit organization or charity, school club, youth group, or community project at the annual “Community Basketball Challenge” sponsored by the Carmel Rotary Club on Saturday, April 24th, 9am to 3pm, at the ShopRite Plaza parking lot, Route 52, Carmel. It’s a fun and easy fundraiser for community organizations to raise money for their programs, services, and activities. You don’t have to a basketball star or even know how to play the game to participate.
This year’s Basketball Challenge is being held outdoors in the Carmel ShopRite Plaza parking lot; and all participants are required to register online, in advance. The CDC and Putnam County Health Department’s COVID-19 guidelines will be followed: everyone attending must wear a mask, social distance and follow the directions of the Rotary volunteers at the event.
Over $23,000 has already been raised in participant pledges and business sponsorships towards this year’s $50,000 goal. Since the Basketball Challenge began 13 years ago over $453,000 has been raised benefitting 91 different community-based organizations and groups. For information on how to participate in the Community Basketball Challenge call the Carmel Rotary Club at 845-225-2122 or visit the Carmel Rotary Club website: www.carmelrotary.org and click on “Basketball Challenge Files.”
