Honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change
We are just about 2 months away from our 2022 Relay For Life! Are you ready to Relay with us and make an impact in the fight against cancer?
Join us on Saturday, June 4 at the Mahopac High School track from 11 AM to 11 PM as we come together to celebrate cancer survivors and thrivers, remember loved ones lost and fight back as a community! The funds raised through Relay For Life fund breakthrough research, education, advocacy and support for all those affected by cancer, including right here in the Brewster community.
Kate Corsitto, your American Cancer Society Staff Partner for your 2022 Relay For Life of Mahopac shared her personal connection to cancer and reason to Relay, “I Relay in memory of my dad and my aunt who lost their battles to cancer. I Relay in honor of my dear friend who is currently battling metastatic breast cancer. I FIGHT BACK each year as a staff partner and as a local fellow Relayer so that one day (I hope in my lifetime) we hear the words, "All cancers are cured!. "I Relay with HOPE!”
This year’s event welcomes you back to the track! We have day packed with activities for the whole family starting at 11:30 AM with our Opening Ceremony followed by our complimentary Survivor Luncheon made possible by the generous support of the Putnam Hospital Medical Staff.
Throughout the day we will have food available for purchase including snacks and a BBQ hosted by the American Legion.
We have a packed schedule with local entertainers, a magician, Zumba and more! At 9:00 PM we will illuminate our track with Luminaria Bags to honor all those affected by cancer. It is truly a magical experience to walk the track together during this ceremony!
We welcome everyone form our community to join us for the day, to create a Relay team, host a vendor or business table, sponsor our event and be part of the movement to end cancer.
The event is supported by many local community partners including Tompkins Bank, Nuvance Health, the Putnam Hospital Medical Staff, Carmel HamletHub, Mahopac News and the Putnam Press Times.
Special thanks to Mahopac Central School District for hosting our event.
Relay For Life continues to be more than just an event - it’s a movement, a community of like-minded survivors, caregivers, volunteers and participants who believe that the future can be free from cancer.
