Honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change
We are just about 2 months away from our 2022 Relay For Life! Are you ready to Relay with us and make an impact in the fight against cancer?
Join us on Saturday, June 11 at the Patterson Fire Department from 3 PM to 10 PM as we come together to celebrate cancer survivors and thrivers, remember loved ones lost and fight back as a community! The funds raised through Relay For Life fund breakthrough research, education, advocacy and support for all those affected by cancer, including right here in the Patterson and surrounding communities.
Kate Corsitto, your American Cancer Society Staff Partner for your 2022 Relay For Life of Patterson shared her personal connection to cancer and reason to Relay, “I Relay in memory of my dad and my aunt who lost their battles to cancer. I Relay in honor of my dear friend who is currently battling metastatic breast cancer. I FIGHT BACK each year as a staff partner and as a local fellow Relayer so that one day (I hope in my lifetime) we hear the words, "All cancers are cured!". "I Relay with HOPE!”
This year’s event welcomes you back to Relay as we know and love it! We welcome Relay teams, cancer survivors, caregivers, and anyone who is passionate about the fight against cancer to join us for a day filled with celebrations and honor starting at 3:00 PM with our Opening Ceremony followed by our
Survivor Lap and complimentary Survivor Luncheon made possible by the generous support of local businesses. Throughout the day we will have food available for purchase from a few different food trucks and some sweet treats in the pavilion! The day will eb filled with so many fun activities for the whole family, including our very special Butterfly Release at 4:00 PM, speed trivia with DJ Russ, dance parties and themed laps as we walk our hand painted track thanks to George Apap Painting! At 9:00 PM we will illuminate our unique walking track with Luminaria Bags to honor all those affected by cancer. It is truly a magical experience to walk the track together during this ceremony!
We welcome everyone form our community to join us for the day, to create a Relay team, host a vendor or business table, sponsor our event and be part of the movement to end cancer.
The event is supported by many local community partners including Nuvance Health, Iron and Wine Restaurant, Carmel HamletHub, and the Putnam Press Times. Special thanks to the Patterson Fire Department for hosting our event.
Relay For Life continues to be more than just an event - it’s a movement, a community of like-minded survivors, caregivers, volunteers and participants who believe that the future can be free from cancer.
