Brewster Emergency Shelter Partnership hopes to "Break Homelessness in Putnam County"

For the first time, the Brewster Emergency Shelter Partnership will be participating in Saturday's Festival on the Lake in downtown Carmel run by Hamlet of Carmel Civic Association.

They will be manning a tent outside the Drew United Methodist Church with information regarding the partnership's mission as well as a donation box. Freebies will also be provided. The organization will also be selling paper strips for $1 apiece or six for $5 on which names or messages of hope can be inscribed. The strips will be connected to make a chain of hope symbolizing the warmth of those pledged to assist our county's homeless.

The partnership will also be participating in the Festival of Lights Parade from the Paladin Center through the hamlet where thousands of
well wishers greet colorful floats.

Volunteers are needed to man the table outside the church as well as to parade. Bring family and friends and don't forget to dress accordingly.  Winds whipping off Lake Gleneida can be frigid in December but not this weekend!!!
