The Master Gardeners’ May Plant Sale

The Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension will host their Annual Plant Sale, Saturday, May 18, 2019, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, at 1 Geneva Road, (off Route 312 – upper DMV Parking Lot) in Brewster. Prepare to be there for the opening bell, because this is one plant sale where the plants move faster than you ever imagined!

The sale features organic heirloom and hybrid vegetables selected by Master Gardeners for Putnam County gardens. Our carefully chosen tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and other popular vegetable seedlings are available singly or in two-packs so you can try a few varieties. You’ll also find garden favorites like annuals and herbs. This year we’ll help you easily create a garden by offering perennial garden packs that will attract pollinators. You’ll also find native pollinator friendly perennials and shrubs chosen to thrive in Putnam County.

What makes our plant sale different? Master Gardeners are on hand to answer your questions about planning, nurturing, and harvesting, so you’ll be sure to have a successful gardening season. Free soil pH tests will get you off to a good start: bring a two-cup sample of your garden soil in a clean container. For additional information go to Putnam.cce.cornell.edu or call Cornell Cooperative Extension at 845-278-6738.
