Free Monthly Guided Tour to Chuang Yen Monastery

For people who are interested in finding our more about Chuang Yen Monastery and Buddhism in general, please join us for this monthly free guided tour.

Chuang Yen Monastery is a beautiful Buddhist monastery located in the Town of Kent, at Carmel, NY.


The monastery boosts the largest Buddha statue in the western hemisphere (~37 feet tall). Besides the Great Buddha Hall, Chuang Yen also houses a Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) Temple, a library of 70,000 books, a gift shop, a dining hall, as well as a beautiful Seven Jewels Lake. On weekends, they also offer lunch to the public.

This free guided tour is provided by Clement Lau (owner of Earthgoods Market in Hyde Park, and former volunteer tour guide at Chuang Yen Monastery).
