Friends Book Sale at Kent Library on May 24, 25

Spring is finally here, and one sure sign of spring is  the Friends of Kent Library semi-annual "giant" book sale on Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25th. This is a great time to stock up on books for summer reading ( including books you can take to the beach without guilt, light paperbacks for traveling, etc.)  There will be lots of beautiful collectable and "coffee table" books, children's books,  and book gift baskets as well.

The sale will begin with an "early bird preview" (with a $10.00 admission fee) from 10 to 11 on Friday, May 24th.  The book sale continues with free admission from 11 am. to 3:00 pm on Friday, May 24 and 10 am. to 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 25.  The sale will take place inside the Kent Public Library at 17 Sybil's Crossing, Kent Lakes, NY  10512.

About 4,000 gently used books will be for sale at bargain prices in the Kent Public Library Book Cellar. The friends have carefully sorted through the books donated to them, divided them into categories, and kept only the best for this sale. Adult book prices range from 50 cents to $2, with some collectible and first edition books at higher prices. Children's books range from $1 each for hardcovers to 6 for $1 for paperbacks. At these prices, you can encourage children to pick out a big stack of books to read over the summer. CDs will be on sale for just 25 cents each, or 5 for $1.00, and audiobooks for $1 each.  There will be lots of DVD's for sale at $1 each, or 6 for $5.00.
The Book Cellar can accommodate 49 people at a time, so buyers who come at an especially crowded time may have to wait their turn to enter. They can browse through the Book Nook, or the book rack of books on sale in the main area of the library.

The Kent Library's Book Nook is open throughout the year on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Volunteers for both the Book Nook and Book Cellar sales are always needed. Please contact the Kent Public Library at 845-225-8585 or  visit www.KentLibrary.org.

Proceeds from book sales year-round are donated to the Kent Library to help fund projects that range from free museum passes to the Battle of the Books summer reading program for school children, all of which support the library's mission to serve "the cultural, educational, recreational and informational needs of our community."
