Introduction to Babysitting

For ages 10 and up, those looking to become babysitters are invited to attend a training from a professional on Saturday, November 23 from 10:30-2:30! Parents entrust their child with the babysitter, therefore, it is crucial to know the basics of child care. In this introduction to babysitting course, students will learn interviewing tips, communication skills, ages and stages of young babies and toddlers, safety and first aid tips, and feeding and caring for children. A simple test will be administered at the completion of the course and certificates will be distributed. Amanda Tucker, the class instructor, holds a degree in Special Ed, Early Education and Child Psychology. Students should bring a notebook, pen and a lunch with them. Registration required.  The Kent Library is located at 17 Sybil's Crossing off Route 52 and can be reached at (845) 225-8585 or www.kentlibrary.org.
