Book Sale At Kent Library on Nov. 1, 2, and 9

The Friends of  Kent  Library will be holding their fall giant book sale at the Kent Public Library on Friday, November 1st  and Saturday, November 2nd, with a "Book Cellar" sale on Saturday, Nov. 9th.

From 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, November 1, there will be a $10 "early bird preview" admission fee. The sale is open to the public for free admission from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, and  from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday., Nov. 2.  The Friends of the Library hold just two giant book sales a year, so take advantage of the opportunity to find plenty of books to last you through a long, cold winter.  On Saturday, November 9, the "book cellar" sale  will be open from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m.  In honor of Veterans Day, on November 9 Veterans are invited to fill up a large bag with books for just $5.

About 4,000 gently used books will be for sale at bargain prices in the Kent Public Library Book Cellar. The Friends have carefully sorted through the books donated to them, divided them into categories, and kept only the best for this sale. Adult book prices range from 50 cents to $2, with some collectible and first edition books at higher prices. Children's books range from $1 each for hardcovers to 6 for $1 for paperbacks.  CDs will be on sale for 50 cents each, or 3 for $1.00, and audiobooks for $1 each.  There will be lots of DVD's for sale at $1 each, or 50 cents for children's DVD's.   This is a great time to stock up on "stocking stuffers" and small gifts for the holidays.  Information about the upcoming vote on the Kent Library appropriation will  be available.

Buyers are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes to carry their books home. Friends of Kent Library canvas bags will also be for sale. The Book Cellar can accommodate 49 people at a time, so buyers who come at an especially crowded time may have to wait their turn to enter.  Proceeds from the book sale are used to buy library museum passes, pay for programs, and otherwise support the Kent Library.

The Kent Library's smaller Book Nook is open throughout the year at 17 Sybil's Crossing, Kent Lakes. The Book Nook is open  on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Volunteers for both the Book Nook and Book Cellar sales are always needed. Please contact the Kent Public Library at 845-225-8585. For more information, visit www.KentLibrary.org.
