Who We Play For, in conjunction with World Gym Brewster, will be holding a Cardiac Screening Event for children 10 and older and adults on Saturday March 1st, 2020 at World Gym Brewster located in the Town Center Shopping Center on Rt 22. The event runs from 10:00 am until 3:00pm.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in sports and on campuses, more then any form of cancer, concussion and illness combined. Thousands of seemingly healthy kids die every year due to detectable heart conditions.
The event will provide electrocardiogram (ECG) heart screenings for student athletes, and students, in the community for just $20. However, no student athlete, or student, will be turned away if they cannot afford the $20 WWPF charges to help write down the cost.
Each ECG will be interpreted by a volunteer cardiologist who is specifically trained on interpreting the heart of a student athlete. An ECG typically costs approximately $150.
Who We Play For (WWPF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate preventable sudden cardiac death in the young through affordable heart screenings.
Registration is suggested but walk ins are welcome. The cost is $20 for students and $35 for adults.
