Pegasus is honored to launch our First Responders program in partnership with the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services
Each session is 5-weeks long and meets once a week from 10am-2pm. This program is offered at no cost to our participants, thank you for all you do for our community!
First responders have an immense impact on their communities. We also know from first-hand experience the impact that secondary trauma can have, and that burnout is a reality that many first responders face. Our veteran's programs are a perfect fit for first responders. We believe that learning the art and skill of self-regulation, understanding how to make distinctions among seemingly conflicting emotions and building the capacity to process ‘the day’ before coming home are all part of maintaining healthy relationships — and all part of ensuring top performance when police, firefighters or EMT’s need it most.
The Equus Effect (TEE) believes that if the people who are called upon to respond to our community members’ in their times of crisis are better equipped to handle the stressors of their job, the community as a whole will better cared for and more resilient.
