Brewster Rotary Celebrates 75 Years of 'Service Above Self'

The Brewster Rotary Club has been proud to provide “Service Above Self” for 75 years. Although this has been a difficult year in many ways, the Club has come up with a way to share this milestone with the Brewster community.

The Club will “give back” to the Brewster community with a 75th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 26 (rain date is Sunday, September 27) honoring Willis H. Stephens, Sr., a member of our Club for many years, as well as past Rotarians and community members Dr. Samuel “Rollo” Ross, Bennie Rosenberg, and founding member Jack Wittenberg.

The Celebration will start at Brewster High School at noon with a commemorative ceremony, and continue with a motorcade, leaving the High School and progressing through the Village of Brewster and past the Green Chimneys campus.

Since the Brewster Rotary’s founding in 1945, the Club has supported service projects and charitable organizations locally, nationally and worldwide, from the announcer’s booth at the Brewster High School football field to natural disaster relief efforts and the Rotary Foundation’s Polio Eradication Program.
