Call for Entries: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE: A Sustainable Art Exhibit
February 4-26, 2022
Third Floor Gallery @ Mahopac Public Library

One person's junk is someone else's treasure. Artists are often scavengers of items that retain their beauty or provide creative inspiration even after they have been discarded. This show will feature collage, assemblage, painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media work that demonstrates sustainability, combining disparate elements and materials to create amazing works of art.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (no entry fee)

  • Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Work must be hand-delivered and ready to hang with hooks, wire, and/or sawtooth hangers.
  • Work must be labeled with the artist's name, title of piece, medium and price (labels provided).

Works that are not identified will not be exhibited.

  • work must not exceed 36" with frame.
  • Small three-dimensional work that can be placed in the Third Floor Gallery display case will be exhibited if space permits.
  • To be included in the virtual exhibit send 1 digital image of each entry submitted for the onsite show (2 entries max) to mplgallerycommittee@gmail.com.

Drop-off dates:

Sunday, January 30, 1-4 pm
Mon, January 31, 1-5 pm
Tues, Feb. 1, 10 am - 4 pm
Wed, Feb. 2, 10 am - 4 pm

LIMITATIONS

  • The Library cannot accept free-standing work that requires a pedestal.
  • Artwork cannot weigh more than 30 pounds.
  • Limit of (2) entries per person.
