Deborah Rafferty Oswald, Brewster resident and author of The Girls of Haviland, which takes place in 1918-1919 Brewster, Carmel, Mahopac, and Manhattan, has published a sequel, Beyond Haviland, which takes place in 1919-1920. Both books are available on Amazon.
Deborah will be appearing at two upcoming book events. On Saturday, February 9, from 5:00-6:00 P.M., she will be at a book signing and wine tasting event at Millstone Wine and Spirits, located at 987 Route 6 in Mahopac. On Saturday, February 23 at noon, she will be presenting at Brewster Public Library on the research she conducted for Beyond Haviland using articles from archival issues of The Putnam County Courier. Both events are free of charge, and signed books will be available for purchase for $15.00. The Millstone Wine and Spirits event is a drop in event; the Brewster Library prefers registration by calling 845-279-6421.
