Act of Kindness By Carmel Resident and Village Bikes Helps 3 Cyclists in Need

On my way to networking meeting earlier this morning,  3 young lads tried to flag me down on Gypsy Trail Road in Kent. I kept thinking about them and called my husband, Jon.

These are 3 young cyclists on their way to Canada - they live in South Jersey and had a broken wheel on one of their bikes.
While waiting for bike shop to open, Jon invited them back to our home for coffee.

I love that man I’m married to - and know, as parents, we would want someone to help our kids if in the same situation.

The 3 cyclists from South Jersey are Rutgers students. Jon said they were great young men and were so appreciative of his hospitality.

The Bike Shop did not open until 10am, which gave the guys an opportunity to become better acquainted w/Jon since they had a 1.5 hours wait. So Jon now drives them to Village Bikes on Old Route 6 in Carmel. Tim, owner Village Bikes, takes the bike apart, completely repairs not just the tires, but added a few extra accessories to the bike. cleaned the bike, spent over 2 hours making it look like new. When the young man asked, "how much", Tim said "no charge and good luck."

You see how there are more beautiful, kind people in this world.

A "ShoutOut" to Village Bikes ~ THANK YOU for making our town (and our world) a better place to live. These boys are in awe with Putnam County hospitality and kindness.

Let's just continue to do that every single day....
