Fr. Bill Drobach Receives the James Reitz Making a Difference Award John Bourges Receives Peter Convery Community Champion Award Carmel, NY

The Prevention Council of Putnam honored Fr. Bill Drobach of St. Christopher’s Inn at their 13th Annual Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 for his exemplary contributions and accomplishments in the fields of substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery. Barbara Reitz co-presented the 2019 James Reitz Making a Difference –Outstanding Community Service Award, renamed in honor of the beloved and sincerely missed, Honorable James Reitz.

John Bourges, Program Coordinator for The Dwyer Veterans Outreach Program in Putnam County received the 2019 Peter Convery Community Champion Award for his dedication and support of Putnam County Veterans and their families, service to his country, and his vast contributions to the community.

“Fr. Bill Drobach and John Bourges’s dedication to our community has improved the quality of life in Putnam County. We are so pleased to be honoring individuals who contribute so much to substance abuse prevention in Putnam County” stated Kristin McConnell, Director of the Prevention Council of Putnam.

The 13th Annual Fundraiser took place on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Putnam County Golf Course, 187 Hill Street, Mahopac, NY, and featured a barbeque, raffle and awards presentation. The Master of Ceremony was Joseph DeMarzo, Deputy Commissioner of Putnam County Mental Health, Social Services and Youth Bureau.
