School Librarian encourages student's to read ebooks

A message from Mrs. Krieger, our librarian!

Now is the time to take advantage of your public library’s ebooks!

In case you have run out of books to read, I want to remind you of all the great ebooks you can get from your public library.
You need a library card to borrow public library ebooks. If you don’t have a library card, online registration for library cards is now available on your local library’s website. Registrants are emailed a library card number and a pin number.

Patterson Library, Reed Library, Kent Library, and East Fishkill Library all are equipped with online library card registration through their websites.

After registering, you are emailed your library card number which allows ebook borrowing through Overdrive, Hoopla or Libby. These are free downloadable apps. Once you download the app, you are asked to put in your library card number and pin.

You can borrow both ebooks and audiobooks this way. Once you are set up, pick any book on your screen that interests you, click borrow, and it is yours for your library’s specific lending time, usually 3 to 4 weeks. No worries about returning either. The book just disappears when your due date arrives and then the book can be renewed.

The public library is also providing a link to teen books which is free and does not require a library card:

If any of this is too much, email me for help: ekrieger@carmelschools.org
Keep reading! It promotes good health and happiness!

Miss you lots,
Love,
Mrs. Krieger
