Carmel School to begin Distance Learning on April 6.

Distance Learning will begin for students on April 6, 2020. The Distance Learning Guide was emailed to parents on Wednesday, April 1. If you did not receive it, please make sure we have your correct email address by contacting your child's principal or by emailing info@carmelschools.org The Distance Learning Guide is also available on our website.

While our official distance learning program will officially begin on Monday, April 6, 2020, our teachers have begun reaching out this week with warm-up activities for students. This is a way to start them in a routine. Also, regarding Passover and Good Friday--teachers will send enough work to keep students active for all five days. However, school work should not take precedence over the observance of religious holidays. Students are encouraged to do the best they can at completing the work without creating any stress or anxiety. For questions, contact your child's teacher or building principal.

In addition to the Distance Learning Guide, parents/guardians should have received an email asking you to grant/deny permission for your child to use Zoom for teacher-led optional office hours. Your child will be unable to participate in Zoom video conferencing activities unless we have a completed permission form. If you have not already done so, check your email and complete a form for each child. If you did not receive this email, please contact your child's principal so we may update our records.

Microsoft Office 365 usernames and passwords for students were also emailed earlier this week. If you did not receive this email, please contact your child's principal so we may update our records.

Distance Learning Tech Support: Please contact TechSupport@carmelschools.org if you are experiencing difficulty engaging with the District's Distance Learning Plan, including usernames, passwords, logging in, equipment questions or needs, or general technical support.

Gov. Cuomo has postponed the Budget Vote & Board Member election until "at least June 1, 2020 and is subject to further directive as to the timing, location or manner of such voting..." The Governor's executive order also postpones the circulation and filing of nominating petitions for Board of Education seats. That means candidates are not permitted to obtain signatures at this time.

Please follow the CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread and flatten the curve of COVID-19!
