Carmel Schools fights for Transportation Reimbursement form the State, asks for publics help

On November 6th, the State Education Department released a memorandum confirming that transportation expenses incurred by districts during the period of time schools were required by the Governor to go remote and develop plans to distribute meals for students - mid March through the end of the school year in June, 2020 - would not be eligible for transportation aid. Statewide, this may result in a loss of approximately half of a billion dollars in state aid. For Carmel, it could be $1.7million in lost aid. We are calling upon our community to take action by completing this form.

The school district is asking for the publics help in ensuring the district is reimbursed for transportation costs.

Tell your state policy makers to ensure school districts are provided reimbursement for all transportation costs incurred during the pandemic.
