Carmel School District Revised Budget Defeated

The Carmel Central School District voters have once again defeated the revised proposed $132,507,952 budget for the 2021-2022 school year, with 1,755 voting no and 1,397 in favor of the proposal.

The vote, held yesterday June 15th, was the second time the proposed budget was voted down. In May, the original 2021-2022 proposed budget proposal was defeated by 171 votes. 1269 voted against that budget to 1125 who favored passage.

Last night's defeat was much more resounding as No votes outnumbered Yes votes by 378. (1775 NO vs 1397 YES Votes). 

"The Board of Education has adopted a contingent budget for the 2021-2022 school year" according to a statement on the CCSD web page
