Putnam CAP seeking donations for back to school supplies

Here at Putnam Community Action Partnership we believe that education is not only a human right, but also a vehicle for moving children out of poverty. Arriving equipped for school helps them feel stable and confident in their ability to learn. Literacy improves an individual’s health, income and overall well-being.

At the end of each summer Putnam CAP organizes and distributes school supplies to families in need to support them on their journey to becoming self-sufficient.

We will be distributing gift cards, rather than actual supplies, to families to purchase their needed school supply items, as well as backpacks & lunch boxes. We are asking for gift cards in $25 denominations to stores such as Target, WalMart, Staples, and Office Max. Donations of such cards and new backpacks & lunch boxes are being accepted at the CAP office now through August 13, 2021.

If you prefer to donate online, please visit our website at www.putnamcap.org and click on the DONATE TO CAP button.

We are sure that you share with us the value of education, and we thank you in advance for your support of this critical program!
