Walk This Weekend To Support Cancer Survivors

WALK THIS WEEKEND TO SUPPORT CANCER SURVIVORS

It’s not too late to participate in Support Connection’s Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer this Sunday, Oct. 3.

The Support-A-Walk was founded twenty-seven years ago by local residents as a way to focus attention on breast and ovarian cancer, and to raise funds for Support Connection’s free, year-round support services for those living with these diseases. Since the organization was founded in 1996, thousands of people locally and across the country have received help from Support Connection.

Once again this year, the theme for the Support-A-Walk is “Walk With Us, Wherever You Are.” Support Connection invites people to walk in their own town or city, neighborhood, or even on a treadmill at home.

For those interested in walking at FDR State Park, more info can be found here: https://supportconnection.org/support-a-walk/#park-update.

It’s easy to participate. Walk on your own, or with family, friends, neighbors. Up until the day of the Walk, there’s time to set up a personal online fundraising page to seek donations. Pages can be created at https://secure.frontstream.com/support-a-walk2021 and will accept donations through the end of this year.

You can also donate directly to the Walk by check or cash, and online: supportconnection.org/donate-now. Donations are welcome even after the Walk.

The Support-A-Walk is the organization’s most important annual fundraiser. 88¢ of every dollar donated directly funds their free breast and ovarian cancer support services. Support Connection does not receive funds from any national cancer organizations including Relay for Life, Susan G. Komen, or Making Strides.
