Reform Temple of Putnam Valley Hebrew School Open House on Sat., Sept. 7th

The Reform Temple of Putnam Valley is holding a Hebrew School Open House on Saturday, September 7th between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at 362 Church Road in Putnam Valley.  Participants can sit in on classes, meet the Rabbis and speak with current Hebrew school families.

The RTPV Hebrew School, which is taught by the Rabbis, is held on Saturday mornings throughout the school year for children ages 8 to 13.  In a small, intimate learning environment, children receive individualized, self-paced Hebrew instruction, have an open exploration of Jewish ethics and values and observe Jewish ritual and holiday celebrations. Art and music are integrated into the curriculum.

Rabbis Steve Altarescu and Laurie Levy, who both graduated from the Academy of Jewish Religion, say, “Our goal is for each child to become a mensch—a responsible, ethical person of character and honor.”
