Danbury Police Make Arrest in Murder of Brewster Man

Danbury Police have made an arrest in the homicide investigation of Jason James Lowry Hoffman, which occurred at the Sterling Woods Condominium Complex Sept. 4, 2019. Earlier this morning, David Ramos, a friend of Hoffman’s and resident of the condominium where Hoffman was killed was taken into custody.

During the course of the investigation, detectives developed sufficient information through interviews and evidence collection to apply for a warrant for Ramos’ arrest. The warrant application was approved on Sept. 9, 2019, linking Ramos to Hoffman’s death.

*Editors Note. Hoffman was killed on Wednesday, September 4, at Sterling Woods, a quiet condominium complex in Danbury set back on Silversmith Dr. on the corner of Nabby Rd. and Palmer Rd., near the Stew Leonard's Section of Federal Rd. Mr Hoffman was laid to rest this morning in his hometown in Brewster, NY., just hours before the suspect was apprehended by Danbury Police.

Ramos eluded apprehension until this morning when he was found in a friend’s apartment located on Scuppo Rd. in Danbury. The court has sealed the information contained in the warrant affidavit, which limits what can be revealed at this time.

Ramos is currently being held at the Danbury Police Department pending arraignment in Superior Court or the posting of a predetermined court set bond of $250,000. Investigators believe Ramos will face additional charges related to the incident as the court case moves forward and is looking into the possibility of others also facing charges related to the death.
