With an official release date of mid-December 2020, the non-profit organization’s President, Paul Toscano expressed his thoughts.  “The year 2020 started off with great promise.  In January we were inducted as an affiliate of the Blues Foundation, which provided access to the International Blues scene. Planning was in the works for the 2020 HVBS Local Blues Challenge, where winners in two categories would compete against other Blues artists at the 2021 International Blues Challenge, held in Memphis each January. In addition, we were planning our 2nd annual fundraiser, when the Pandemic shut everything down.”

Not to be dismayed by the Pandemic and statewide lockdown mandates, Board members continued their monthly meetings via Zoom. In an effort to support the membership, keep fundraising efforts on track while building on the previous year’s success, the Board voted unanimously to produce a compilation CD of original content. To celebrate their 2nd anniversary as an organization, it was decided that the CD project would replace the cancelled benefit, at the Falcon Underground, Marlboro, NY.

“We are grateful for all music contributions, and are extremely proud of this album. This CD showcases a wealth of talent, and includes some of the best the Hudson Valley has to offer,” Board member Hillary Fontana exclaimed.  “Don't take our word for it, have a listen. Feast your ears,” continued Paul Toscano.

All Board members contributed, based on their strengths, and the CD production was underway, headed up by Trustee, Tom Forst, an international touring and chart-selling original Blues artist.

In addition to HVBS members, an invitation was extended to professional Blues musicians who reside in the region.  Many of these musicians are very familiar to the Blues community as well as music lovers universally.  For a full list of cd contributors, visit the website.
